- The small black square is an empty tile, a blue square is a water tile, and a grey square is a ship tile. The numbers along the edges of the game screen represent the number of ship tiles in that row or column. The other caveat is that the ship tiles must fall under a set number of configurations.
- May 05, 2006 First, make sure the Tile Game widget is open in your Dashboard. Then, use F12 to hide Dashboard and find the image you want to use in the Finder. Click on the image file and drag it (as if your we're moving or copying it) and while your mouse button is down, press F12 to bring up Dashboard again.

This technique works for any widget that allows 'drag and drop' of files/images/etc.

Apple provides a digital version of that old standby, the sliding tile game. Play pc games on mac wineskin. Tile Game is a Dashboard widget on your Mac, so you can display it at any time by pressing the correct function key (F4 or F12, depending on the keyboard your Mac uses).
If you’re using a trackpad, display Mission Control (by swiping upward with three fingers) and click the Dashboard thumbnail.
Literacy Stations are really frustrating if you don't have strong activities at each station. It's important to start small and do just what you're comfortable with. I realize that administrators and curriculum specialists want you 'all in' from the beginning, but if it's going to work well in your room, you have to take it a section at a time.
Check out the Tile Game widget on a Dashboard.
If the Tile Game widget doesn’t appear on your Dashboard, click the Add button (bearing the plus-sign icon) at the lower left to display your available widgets. Click the Tile Game icon, and El Capitan adds it to your Dashboard.
Click the Tile Game window once to randomize the tiles and then click again to start playing. To move a tile to the free space, click the tile. The object of the game, of course, is to restore the image to its original pristine condition!
You can return to your applications and your El Capitan Desktop at any time by pressing the Esc key again or by pressing the Dashboard function key again.
One nice thing about Dashboard game widgets is that most of them save the current game (or position) when you close the Dashboard. That way, you can easily resume the game after you . . . well, get real work done.
